About Roanoke and these terms
These terms apply to products, subscriptions, downloads, updates, support and community services supplied by Roanoke Development LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 16334378. Registered office: 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. Contact contact@roanoke.dev or https://discord.gg/KGq66AhHh3. Separate written terms may apply to custom commissions. Our privacy notice explains how we use personal information.
A product includes a mod, Velocity plugin, supporting library or other software we supply. A restricted product is software supplied under our proprietary licence, including premium software accessed through a subscription. Restricted products are licensed, not sold; a purchase does not transfer ownership of their code or intellectual property. Where a product or component has a separate open-source licence, that licence governs it and takes precedence over conflicting restrictions below.
Your account and licence
Purchases are attached to your Roanoke account, which uses Discord sign-in. One purchase per account and product is sufficient for the server or network you operate. A network may include a public proxy and multiple backend server processes; we do not require a separate purchase for every backend JVM. Private development and testing for that server or network are also permitted.
A one-time purchase grants a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, subject to payment and the suspension and termination provisions below. It includes the supplied product's downloads, updates and support while we provide them. A subscription grants a temporary licence only while the relevant paid access remains active.
You may install the restricted product for that permitted use and keep the copies and backups reasonably needed for it. You must not sell, sublicense, lend, transfer or redistribute the product or your account to another operator. Do not share restricted JARs with players, put them in modpacks, publish download mirrors, or expose them through public repositories or client-facing downloads. Permitted staff access is described below. Keep your account and files secure, restrict access to authorised people and report suspected unauthorised access promptly.
Subscriptions and included products
Supporter costs GBP 14.50 per month and includes BetterBreeding, Gift Box, Boosters and Haberdashery while active. It supports our free and open-source work.
Patron costs GBP 49.50 per month, includes all Supporter access, and adds Oxygen and CobbledSync, their required Crib and CribVelocity libraries, priority support and higher priority for update requests. It also enables the platform's one-owner/one-staff-delegate sharing feature. Priority does not guarantee a response time or that a requested update will be made.
Patron does not grant base licences for separately sold products such as GGyms or RGTS. Those licences are required in addition to Patron for their Patron-only cross-server features. Oxygen ownership grants access to Crib and CribVelocity; CobbledSync ownership grants Crib access. An outright Oxygen or CobbledSync licence does not require a subscription to use that product and its dependencies, and does not grant Patron benefits for unrelated products. CribVelocity is a Velocity plugin.
Subscription-only rights end when the paid period ends unless renewed. Stop using products and features for which you no longer have a licence. Independently owned perpetual licences remain valid.
Billing and cancellation
Prices and payments are in GBP. The checkout displays the amount payable before you confirm payment. Subscriptions renew monthly through Stripe until cancelled. There are no launch trials, annual plans, discounts or self-service tier changes.
Cancel through your account's Billing page before the next renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep the included access until then. A failed renewal grants no extra access beyond the period already paid for. If a payment is later completed, access is restored for the paid period. Contact us if you cannot manage your subscription. Legacy Ko-fi subscriptions remain managed through Ko-fi until separately moved. We will give notice before a subscription price change affects you.
Immediate supply, cancellation rights and refunds
Before payment, we ask you to agree to these terms and expressly request immediate access to digital content. Where you have a statutory cancellation right for digital content, you acknowledge that it is lost once supply begins with your consent. We separately ask you to request the start of any subscription services during the cancellation period. Starting an ongoing service does not mean the whole service has been performed or that every statutory cancellation right has ended.
We do not offer discretionary change-of-mind refunds, including for accidental purchases or forgetting to cancel a renewal. This does not exclude rights or remedies that the law requires, including for faulty or misdescribed digital content, or any cancellation right that still applies to services. Where a statutory service cancellation right applies, you may cancel within 14 days of entering the contract; a proportionate charge may apply for services supplied at your express request before cancellation.
To raise a problem or exercise an applicable cancellation right, send contact@roanoke.dev your account or order reference and a clear statement of your request. You can use: 'I give notice that I cancel my contract for [product/service], ordered on [date]. Name: [name]. Account/order reference: [reference]. Address: [address]. Date: [date].' Using this wording is optional. A refund or charge reversal may remove access funded by that payment without affecting ownership you hold through another valid source.
Staff access and redistribution
Patron account holders may invite one staff delegate through the platform for work on the holder's server or network. A delegate cannot pass received access onward. Staff must use files only for that work and must not redistribute them. Ending the sharing relationship or losing the required membership ends delegated access. You remain responsible for access you give your staff. Sharing with unrelated operators, friends or external developers outside the authorised staff relationship is not permitted without our agreement.
Reverse engineering, decompilation and AI services
Except where we give prior written permission or applicable law grants a right that cannot be excluded, you must not decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, modify, translate or attempt to reconstruct the source code of a restricted product. You must not remove licence checks, copyright notices or other protections, or arrange for somebody else to carry out prohibited acts. Using documented configuration options or an API we provide is permitted. Contact us about supported integrations or interoperability information.
Under the same exceptions, you must not upload, paste, submit or otherwise make a restricted product's JARs, bytecode, source code or decompiled code available to an AI service, coding assistant, model provider, automated analysis service or third-party decompiler. This expressly includes using those services to decompile, explain or reconstruct the implementation, modify it, produce a derivative, or train or fine-tune a model. A private session, paid account or provider's promise not to train on submissions does not itself grant permission. Using a local AI tool does not permit otherwise prohibited reverse engineering.
These restrictions do not remove any non-excludable right to make necessary backups, observe, study or test a program's functioning, or carry out limited decompilation for interoperability. Where such a statutory exception applies, its conditions and limits on use and disclosure still apply; our permission is not an additional condition for exercising that right. The restrictions also do not override an applicable open-source licence. You may seek help using your own configurations and ordinary logs that do not disclose restricted implementation code or another person's confidential information.
Payment disputes, chargebacks and fraud
You must not knowingly submit a false payment dispute, misrepresent an authorised purchase as unauthorised, seek a duplicate recovery, or obtain a refund or payment reversal while knowingly retaining paid rights you are no longer entitled to use. Deliberate payment fraud or dishonest abuse of a chargeback process is a serious breach of these terms. A dispute being opened, or a provider deciding it against us, does not by itself establish fraud or abuse.
If there is a payment problem, contact contact@roanoke.dev so we can investigate. Contacting us first is not a condition of exercising a lawful claim or approaching your payment provider, and these terms do not shorten any applicable deadline.
While a payment is disputed, we may temporarily restrict access funded by that payment where reasonably necessary and lawful to investigate or prevent further loss. If the payment is finally reversed, the licence or access funded by it may end, subject to any remedy or continuing right the law requires. We will restore access where payment is confirmed and there is no separate lawful ground to restrict it.
Where evidence establishes deliberate fraud or serious abuse affecting the wider account, we may, following individual review, suspend or terminate access across the account, including all product downloads, updates, support and staff delegation, where necessary, proportionate and lawful. Terminating a licence requires the grounds described below; a chargeback alone does not automatically forfeit unrelated, validly paid perpetual licences. We do not impose a penalty for a genuine complaint, a lawful payment dispute or the exercise of statutory rights.
Compatibility, support and community
Check the selected product, tier, release compatibility and requirements before buying or installing. Ask us before purchase if you are unsure what is included. Test updates on a non-public staging server and maintain your own backups before changing a production server.
Support and updates are available to valid licence holders and eligible active subscribers on a reasonable-effort, fair-use basis. We may limit repetitive, excessive or unrelated support requests. A particular future update, compatibility with every third-party system or a service-level agreement is not promised unless separately agreed in writing. This does not limit our responsibility to supply what we have actually agreed or any mandatory remedy.
Do not harass or abuse other users or staff, publish unlawful or explicit material, disclose another person's private information, compromise accounts, evade access controls or redistribute restricted files. Community moderation and proportionate support restrictions may apply to misconduct; suspension or termination of paid product rights is governed by the separate provisions below.
Intellectual property and availability
We and our licensors retain intellectual-property rights in the products, source code, branding and related materials. Access gives you only the rights expressly granted by the relevant licence or applicable law. You permit us to use feedback, bug reports and feature suggestions you voluntarily provide to improve our products without an obligation to implement them or pay compensation, unless separately agreed.
Sign-in, payments and downloads depend on services including Discord and Stripe. We take reasonable steps to address service problems but cannot promise uninterrupted availability. Contact us if an account is compromised or you otherwise lose access; we may require reasonable evidence of ownership before restoring it. If we discontinue a product's distribution, we will make reasonable efforts to provide continued access for valid licence holders. A perpetual licence is a continuing right to use the supplied software, not a guarantee of indefinite hosting or future development.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend affected access or terminate an affected licence for a serious breach of that licence, such as deliberate unauthorised distribution, prohibited decompilation or AI disclosure, deliberate circumvention of access controls, or payment fraud. Wider account restrictions require evidence of a serious breach affecting the wider service and must be necessary and proportionate; a minor or unrelated breach does not automatically cancel every purchase. Restrictions may extend to all downloads, updates, support, community access and delegation where those conditions are met.
We will explain the grounds and, where the breach can reasonably be corrected, give a reasonable opportunity to correct it before termination. Immediate protective suspension may be appropriate for ongoing fraud, code disclosure, redistribution or a security threat. We will review disputed restrictions and restore access where the grounds are not established. You can request review at contact@roanoke.dev; this does not limit any right to seek an independent remedy.
When a licence validly ends, you must stop using the affected restricted product and remove unauthorised copies from systems under your control, including staff copies. You may retain material only where legally required or permitted by a continuing right, and not use it to continue an expired licence. Any required refund or other statutory remedy remains available. We will not continue charging for a recurring service that we have permanently terminated; a temporary suspension does not extend your paid period automatically.
Responsibility and governing law
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for losses caused by your misuse, unsupported changes or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Your responsibility to test changes and keep backups does not remove any liability the law places on us.
For business customers, to the extent legally permitted, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses and loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or anticipated savings arising from use or inability to use the products or services. We do not promise that software will be error-free or that every future third-party release will be supported. Nothing here disclaims the product descriptions or express commitments forming part of your contract.
English and Welsh law governs these terms. Where you are a consumer, mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction remain available. We are not affiliated with Cobblemon, Mojang, Microsoft, Nintendo, Game Freak or The Pokémon Company. This is not an official Minecraft product.
Changes and your purchase record
We may update these terms for future transactions and will give appropriate notice of material changes affecting an ongoing service. An update does not retrospectively remove an existing perpetual licence. Your checkout records the terms version and your express requests; you can download a copy from the order page in Billing. Contact us for help obtaining your purchase record.
